Bill Doyle: GreatHorse owner Guy Antonacci takes shot at playing in Mass. Open

207 bunkers or anything else about at GreatHorse when they play in the 109th Massachusetts Open Championship this week

If Nick Antonelli of North Andover or Chris Houston of Gilford, New Hampshire, have any questions about the palatial clubhouse, the 207 bunkers or anything else about at GreatHorse when they play in the 109th Massachusetts Open Championship this week, they can simply ask the other member of the threesome, Guy Antonacci.

Antonacci, 30, is the president of the Hampden club and owns it with his family. He requested and was granted an exemption from Mass Golf to play in the event. GreatHorse head pro Billy Downes also will compete in the Mass. Open this week, and in the past assistant pros and superintendents from the host clubs also have played, but Antonacci is believed to be the first owner to take part.
